My favourite pictures from Greece.
(Please note, not "fave pics". People who can't handle words with more than one syllable probably oughtn't to be let anywhere near the mains.)
These photos are all from the CRGS 2001 Classics Trip to Greece.

DENNIS'S GUIDE TO GREECE
ACROPOLIS NOW
CLASSICS TRIP 2001: An edge of Greece
CT2001: A lion in the Athens Museum. About as fiersome as my pet leaf.
CT2001: Athens Museum: Aphrodite scares off Pan with one of her heels.
CT2001: Athens Museum: Julius Caesar. Bet he thinks he's hard.
CT2001: The Acropolis: Temple of Athena & Poseidon.
CT2001: The Acropolis: The Parthenon.
CT2001: An example of doric columns & triglyphs, from the Parthenon.
An Ephebe Male, by Kritios, 480 BC. Obviously it's cold in the Acropolis Museum...
This guy's famous, apparently, though he's not nearly as hunky as old Kostas on the left.
Now this gal's something else. She's called "Almond Eyes", because her eyeliner's still on after all these years. She's obviously not heard of makeup remover, poor thing.
Bloody hell, I didn't realise Anne Robinson was THAT old.
Mr. Brinded (head of classics) in front of the temple at Aegina. He's wearing a beer festival t-shirt.
Mycenae: The home of King Agamemnon.
Terry explores one of Mycenae's womb-like tombs. Note the 'legs' and shape of opening to the tomb.
Terry with his expedition hat, a black figure against the light pouring into the womb-tomb. Far left: Mr. Chambers.
Amias, who appears to be sticking his neck out.
The hive-like roof of one of the womb-like tombs. The dark interiors of the tombs feel strangely mystical, but at the same time very secure and comforting.
The secret exit to the city, which as secret exits go is pretty crap. It ends in a very steep drop, as Graham found out.
The landscape around Mycenae.
(Olympia museum) Those ancient Greeks were certainly good-looking. Hermes is carrying baby Dionysus. Aw, sweet.
(Olympia Museum) A Sphinx. Kind of the ancient version of The Riddler to Oedipus's Batman.
(Olympia Museum) Nike, the goddess of victory. She NEEDS to moisturise.
One of the things that struck me about Olympia was its amazing lushness. Everything was bright and colourful. You could see why it was a holy site in the ancient world.
Olympia is well supplied with water, which is why it's such an oasis of colour in what is otherwise a pretty dry country.
Terry shares a joke with some of the Cru.
Dicko, rarely captured on holiday, just before he finds out what I've done to Maurice.
Seb Blackshaw, AKA "Hacksaw Blackshaw", planning a new way of torturing Graham.
(left to right) Some of the Cru: Nick, Mister P, Dicko, David, Shep and Dennis, waiting at the airport to go home.
The Teaching Cru: Mr.Terry Bird, Mr. Neil 'Uncle' Brinded, Mrs. 'Dude' or 'Agent Sunglasses' Aslidou, Mr. Huggett, Mr. Tim 'The Funk' Chambers.
Maurice, post-op.
